Why 50/10
Fifty minutes of work and ten of rest add up to exactly one hour, which makes it easy to plan a day: start on the hour and you're back at your desk on the next one. Some people call it a long Pomodoro. It gives you twice the focus time of a classic Pomodoro, for work that needs longer to get going.
How to use it
Press Start at the top of an hour. The timer moves on to the break by itself, with a chime, and stops when the break ends. Press Start again for the next hour.
Frequently asked questions
Does it repeat?
No. It runs one hour, then stops, so you choose when to start the next one.
Is 50/10 a real Pomodoro?
Not strictly. The Pomodoro Technique uses 25 minutes. 50/10 borrows the idea of work followed by a planned break.
What should I do in the ten minutes?
Get away from the screen: stand up, have a drink, look out of a window.
